DAVE BAYLIS | Managing Principal
As Managing Principal of Briar Hill Development, Dave leads the company’s strategic direction while remaining deeply involved in the day-to-day execution of its projects. He guides long-term growth initiatives, builds partnerships, and identifies new development opportunities that align with the firm’s mission. His responsibilities also include evaluating sites and markets, directing pre-development activities, overseeing acquisitions, and managing construction progress and project delivery.
With more than 30 years of business development experience, Dave has a strong track record in new product development, business growth, systems and process improvement, and strategic planning. Under his leadership, Briar Hill has developed and acquired senior housing communities representing more than $500 million in total value, reflecting the firm’s depth of experience in complex, operationally driven asset classes.
He holds an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a BA in Political Science from Colorado College. Dave has been married for 33 years and is the proud father of four daughters.
JON HANKS | Principal
As Principal of Briar Hill Development, Jon Hanks plays a key leadership role across the full development lifecycle, with a particular focus on master planning, acquisitions, financing, and deal structuring. He works closely with the leadership team to evaluate sites and markets, shape development strategy, and structure capital stacks that align project vision with long-term financial performance. Jon is actively involved from early concept through execution, helping ensure projects are thoughtfully planned, financially sound, and positioned for long-term success.
Jon brings more than 25 years of experience in banking, real estate, and finance, during which he has been involved in over $3 billion of construction and acquisition financings. His expertise spans capitalization, market analysis, investment modeling, and investor relations, and he has worked across a broad range of asset types, including residential, senior housing, and mixed-use developments.
Jon earned a Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame and holds an MBA from Webster University. He is married and the proud father of two sons.
RYAN TEBEAU | Development Director
As Development Director at Briar Hill Development, Ryan Tebeau is responsible for identifying and executing new development opportunities across the firm’s portfolio. He supports projects from initial concept through delivery, developing growth strategies and managing the day-to-day work required to advance new developments. His responsibilities include market identification, site feasibility and selection, due diligence, underwriting and financial modeling, municipal approvals, and project execution.
Ryan joined Briar Hill in 2015 following his graduation from the University of Missouri–Columbia and has grown alongside the firm. While his primary focus has been within the development team, he brings additional experience in operational process improvement, compliance, and accounting, contributing to a well-rounded approach to project delivery.
Ryan holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri–Columbia and was a recipient of the Evans Scholars Scholarship. He remains active in the alumni community. Ryan was married in 2024 in Colorado.
